Who you are, what you make, what you want to make, where you make things, and all the other things.

I'm J. Eric Townsend aka "jet", I mostly work out of my home studio but have been working at TechShop PGH when I need tools I can't afford (waterjet, powder coat booth, etc).

I have too many portfolios

Hello,
My name is Lori. My maker experience flows around drones and how they operate. I have presented at the local Maker faires and am proud to support anyone out there in any way that I can. My experience spans over 27 years of being a educator, business woman and proud maker. Glad to be a part of this forum.

I'm Dan...a long-time "health club" Techshop member (I have a yearly membership, but only come in once or twice a month).
Mostly, I just powdercoat bike frames to cover my membership costs, play with lasers, and take whatever classes interest me.

Hi,

My name is Jon. I've been a DIY person for most of my life (restoring classic cars, RC airplanes, sewing, general mucking about in the garage/shop), and just recently started using TechShop mainly for access to the laser cutters. I use the laser cutters for my work on sewn nylon goods and leatherwork.

I'm Jackie, I run a program called Startable that is going into its fourth year at TechShop. Creative youth programming is what I "make" by profession, but I've always been crafty--I do a lot of sewing, knitting, etc. I've made jewelry in the past as well, though that's on hold for a bit. Through TechShop I also fell in love with using the laser as a hobbyist. Have been meaning to learn and find a way to use 3D printing at some point as well!

I'm more of a lurker than a poster, but I'm keeping close tabs on everything as we think about ways to make sure the youth of our city continue to have access to amazing maker resources that can change their career paths and lives. :)

I'm Todd - a recent CMU grad and game designer (https://expeditiongame.com) by trade, also an enthusiastic DIY hobbyist. My roommates and I built all our own furniture at TechShop, and have since expanded into metalworking, 3d printing and electronics.

For the past few years, we've been building up our shop at home, and have recently started sharing it with the community via free educational events (see post: https://pittsburghmakers.org/viewtopic. ... e9a2be4971)

Whether it's for fun or business, I think making is hugely valuable to Pittsburgh and I want to see it survive and flourish in light of these recent developments. I have a lot of experience with crowdfunding, marketing and event planning, so let me know how I can help!

Hi I'm Ash! I was previously a manager at TS and I've probably given you a dose of sass if we've met before 😉

I do woodwork as a side hobby now, but it was a full business. I primarily come in to see people I love and care about (re:community) because I have most of the tools I need at my disposal at home.

I'm excited to see where this new adventure takes our community.
